In 2009 we used to have an e-commerce website on page one and would bring in about $3,000 a month with it.
Then it lost rankings…
In 2018 we got it back to page one and were making about $500 a month…
Now it’s in the top #3 and sales are above $4,000.
My experience is that top #3 rankings sell better now because of mobile, and page one only rankings sell less than before!

I think we still have a bit of catching up to do in the content strategy and marketing fields. For example, we know that posts above 2,000 words generally get more shares than shorter pieces – but do users read 2,000 words on a mobile device? Are people sharing but not actually reading? Are they bookmarking in order to read longer pieces on a longer screen?
